Meet the Team
Jenelle
Jenelle has been a part of the practice since December 2019 and took on the role of contact lens technician in May 2020. She says the best part about this job is making sure the first experience as a contact lens wearer goes smoothly and is not frightening to the patient. Her ability to remain calm and engaged is beneficial as she explains all the necessary steps in the insertion and removal process. Jenelle's favorite thing to do when not at work is to spend as much time with my Siberian Husky, Paisley. She also enjoys shopping and being taken on new adventures.
Brenda
Brenda has been in the optical Industry for 33 Years, having worked for corporate optical entities and private practice. She has managed offices, has been ABO certified, and a lead CSR. She brings her joy of being an optician to our practice, joining the team in April 2021. She loves working with patients and helping them have better vision for a better life of seeing. Brenda is a happy dog mama of her beloved Pookie, loves her Bob, and her career.
Lori
Lori joined our team in 2016, having worked for a Monroe independent ophthalmologist for six years. She has over 43 years of optical experience and is a state-licensed optician. Lori has a passion for eyewear and currently is our frame buyer. Her desire is to make you look your best while seeing your best. Lori is married with five children and six grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, dogs, traveling and discovering new and interesting places. Have a conversation with Lori and you will learn why she loves to travel and learn as much as she can.
Loren
Loren has had 11 years’ experience in the optical industry. She began her career as an optometric technician and contact lens technician. She had the opportunity to train as an optician and found she enjoyed working with patients and styling eyewear. Loren joined the Great Lakes Vision Care team in August 2018 and found a niche in working in an independent optical practice. She says she is a 'Crazy Plant Lady' and enjoys doting on her collection of houseplants, and summer vegetable garden. Loren finds simple beauty in the way life works, with nature and biology, and the science of it all.
Racheal
Racheal has been a member of our team since November of 2021. She has taken the role as one of our Patient Advocates at the front desk. She enjoys being able to help every patient that walks through our door with a smiling face. When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her two beautiful children and her husband. One of her favorite things to do with her family of 4 is go on enjoyable vacations together. Racheal is super excited to be a part of the GLVC team and able to assist the needs of each of our patients.
Sonia
Sonia has been in the optical industry for 17 years, ABO certified for 16 years. She truly enjoys helping patients find the perfect frame, and designing lenses that will best work with their prescription. Her hobbies include gardening, designing flower arrangements, wreaths, painting furniture, and attending Travis Tritt concerts.
She has been married to her wonderful husband, Rik, for 19 years. They love spending as much time as possible with their son, daughter, and 6 grandkids.
She’s also a “Doodle Mom” Aspen, a Newfypoo, and Georgia, a Goldendoodle!
Kiah
Kiah joined our practice in October 2022. She is a paraoptometric technician and works alongside of the doctors as a medical scribe. Kiah enjoys being a part of a helpful and kind team. You might think she is quiet, but she gives her all to help patients with their needs and she continues to learn more about the health of our eyes. When not at work, Kiah enjoys nature and spending time with her lovely cat, Soup.
Logan
Logan has been a member of our team since December of 2022. She has taken the role as one of our Patient Advocates at the front desk. When she is not at work, you will find her spending time with her daughter and husband. She loves planning family vacations! Logan is excited to be a part of GLVC family and happy to help the patients with their eye care needs.
Tanya
Tanya has been part of the practice since September 2022 as a paraoptometric technician, she enjoys helping people. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with her sisters and finding great venues that include wine tasting. She also loves spending time with her fiancé and her Australian Shepard, Moscato.
Kristie
Kristie recently joined our optical team bringing 18 years of experience. She is an ABO certified optician and enjoys interacting with patients for their optical needs. Kristie is pleased with the frame selection we have at the office and helping style patients for new glasses. She enjoys music, Michigan football, British television, and listening to her police scanner. Her heart is truly taken by her four grandchildren, Penelope, Tamen, Pheobe, and Braylynn and she relishes the time she spends with them.
